Meet the Principal

Mr. David Middlin, Principal

With more than 20 years of experience in education, I am excited to serve as the principal of Milan Middle School. Throughout my career, I’ve instructed and overseen middle school students, and I truly believe this is a time in a young person’s life that is both challenging and filled with great potential. I’m passionate about providing a safe and supportive environment where students feel connected to the school community and have a place where they truly belong. My goal is to help every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, and to ensure they are equipped for success in all aspects of their lives.

I hold a master’s degree in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University, which has helped shape my approach to education. I believe in collaboration, innovation, and creating opportunities for both students and staff to grow. As a principal, I see myself as a partner in the development of each student, and I am committed to making Milan Middle School a place where everyone—students and staff alike—can feel supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, whether it’s hunting, fishing, running, or just enjoying nature. My wife, Kim, and our two children, Will and Bella, are excited to be part of the Milan community as well. I’m looking forward to this school year and the opportunity to incorporate my experiences as a parent and educator into a crucial part of the Milan educational journey. Together, I’m confident we’ll make this year memorable and successful for all of our students.
